Auld Kirk Museum

Museo | Glasgow | Scotland | Reino Unido

Great eclectic museum covering aspects of Kirkintilloch's history back to Roman times, housed in the town's historic church building. Helpful museum staff member was cream on the top of this free museum.

A good place to visit if you are in the Kirkintilloch area. They usually have art exhibitions on (there's a lovely one on at the moment) and have a permanent museum depicting Kirkintilloch in the past. Plenty of local cafes too if you're looking for somewhere to eat.

Very nice, but way too small for somewhere of Kirky's stature. Needs to be expanded?

Went in to have a wee look at the photography competition exhibition and saw a host of wonderful and varied images. The custodian took my details for test and trace? and it was done quickly. The young lady just had to wait a wee while until l retrieved my mobile number. Worth a visit if you have the time.

A great way to learn about some local history - I learnt more about Kirkintilloch's past in 30 minutes there than I have in living around here for a decade. It's small but perfectly formed - take a look around, then grab a coffee from one of the local cafes and go for a wander around Peel Park for a peaceful morning. It's free to enter, but remember to leave a wee donation if you can!
